Bram Stoker Festival Dublin 2013 Announced

This October Bank Holiday weekend Dublin City will celebrate all things ghoulish for the 2nd Bram Stoker Festival, running Saturday 26th through to Monday 28th October, 2013. Taking the legacy of Dublin horror novelist Bram Stoker and his gothic novel ‘Dracula’ as inspiration, the festival, spread across Dublin city centre, will celebrate all things macabre, strange, supernatural mixed with some good-old fashioned Halloween fun.

PRISONERS opens in Ireland on 27th September

When his six year old daughter Anna goes missing along with her friend Joy, Keller Dover (Hugh Jackman) faces every parent’s worst nightmare. The only lead is a dilapidated RV that had been spotted earlier on the street. Detective Loki (Jake Gyllenhaal) is put in charge of the investigation and immediately arrests the driver of the RV Alex Jones (Paul Dano), however a lack of physical evidence force them to release him.

New Irish feature film BLACK ICE

Independent Irish production companies Bandit Films and Still Films will release feature film Black Ice in Irish cinemas on September 20th 2013. The film screened at the Galway Film Fleadh in July and had its World Premiere at the Jameson Dublin International Film Festival in February. Directed by Johnny Gogan and starring Killian Scott and Jane McGrath, the film is a dramatic action thriller set against the backdrop of the local petrol-head scene in rural Ireland.

Kennedy Summer School 2013 Officially Launched

The 2013 Kennedy Summer School officially opened this morning in New Ross, Co. Wexford. The three day festival of Irish and American politics, history and culture will run from today until this Saturday, the 14th September.  Cousins, Ted Kennedy Junior, son of Senator Edward Kennedy and Rory Kennedy, daughter of Senator Bobby Kennedy, were on hand to help open the festival to the public.

Riddick hits Irish cinemas September 4th

This September 4th Riddick will open in Irish cinemas. The latest chapter of the groundbreaking saga that began with 2000’s hit sci-fi film Pitch Black and 2004’s The Chronicles of Riddick reunites writer/director David Twohy (A Perfect Getaway, The Fugitive) and star Vin Diesel (the Fast and Furious franchise, xXx). Diesel reprises his role as the antihero Riddick, a dangerous, escaped convict wanted by every bounty hunter in the known galaxy.

Annual golf classic to take place on August 23rd

Packie Bonner joined with Niall Quinn and Ray Houghton to launch the Packie Bonner 2013 Golf Classic in aid of Spina Bifida Hydrocephalous Ireland. This annual event will take place on Friday 23rd August at the world famous K Club Golf Course in Straffan, Co Kildare. All proceeds raised will go to SBHI in order to continue their valuable work in assisting those with the conditions spina bifida and/or hydrocephalus.
