ALONE, Declan O’Rourke and Bonfire team up for the launch of the charity’s ‘Love is the Way” Advertisement campaign

ALONE, the organisation which supports older people, have teamed up with Declan O’Rourke and Bonfire Dublin to release their ‘Love is the Way’ Advertisement campaign, calling on members of the public to consider donating to ALONE to help them continue their important work with the increased number of older people seeking their support. ALONE work with all older people, including those who are lonely, isolated, frail or ill, homeless, living in poverty, or are facing other difficulties.

The Mauritanian Premieres on Amazon Prime Video On 1st April

STX and Amazon Prime Video announced today that Kevin Macdonald’s highly anticipated thriller The Mauritanian will premiere on Amazon Prime Video in Ireland and the UK on 1st April.

The Mauritanian stars Jodie Foster, Tahar Rahim, Benedict Cumberbatch and Shailene Woodley. The film has been longlisted for an impressive 11 BAFTAs, including Best Film, and nominated for several other awards, including Golden Globe nods for Best Actor – Drama for Tahar Rahim and Best Supporting Actress for Jodie Foster.

Irish Travel Agents Association call on Government to Save the Travel Industry

The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) made a strong case for a bespoke business support package at a meeting today with Minister for Transport Eamon Ryan and Minister of State responsible for international travel, Hildegarde Naughton.  The Ministers were told of the dire  impact the pandemic and subsequent travel restrictions were having on the outbound Irish travel industry and were called upon to provide improved Government supports for Irish travel agents.

Applications open for hosting events as part of the Dublin Learning City Festival 2021!

Dublin Learning City have announced that their Dublin Learning City Festival will run virtually from the 22nd to 24th March 2021 to celebrate and promote learning for all, through fun and creative events. The Festival will focus on new and existing community-based initiatives to promote learning among a variety of different groups in Dublin city and the greater Dublin area.

Irish Travel Agents Association presents to Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications

The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) presented to the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport and Communications Networks earlier today to discuss a range of issues faced by the travel industry as a result of COVID-19 and related restrictions. Pat Dawson, CEO of the Irish Travel Agents Association and Paul Hackett, ITAA Board member and CEO of Click&Go met with the Committee this morning, seeking better consumer protection and improved Government supports for Irish travel agents in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

It’s ‘Time to Talk’ with ALONE

ALONE, the organisation which supports older people, is encouraging older people to reach out and strike up a conversation especially if they are feeling particularly isolated at the moment due to the extension of COVID-19 restrictions. The organisation has campaigned in this area for many years and are highlighting the concerns they have when it comes to loneliness, as its effects take hold and expand across a wider and new cohort of older people. ALONE are concerned by the increased impact loneliness is having which they can measure in their increased demand for their supports. Today, they are asking the public to continue to make time to talk and stay in touch with their older relatives, neighbours and friends.

Irish Travel Agents Association refute claims made by Ryanair

The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) have refuted a statement and comments made by Ryanair claiming that the airline has not dealt with travel agents for the past twenty years.  The ITAA are once again asking Ryanair for honesty and transparency with regards to refunds, to resolve ongoing issues for consumers and travel agents alike.

Irish Travel Agents Association address issues securing refunds from Ryanair

The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) have stated that all ITAA member travel agents continue to have problems with accessing flight refunds from Ryanair, and that this issue continues to affect bricks and mortar travel agents and online travel agents alike. The ITAA are asking Ryanair to be honest and truthful with the public with regards to refunds, to ensure that affected customers are reimbursed for disrupted or cancelled flights.
