Get on your bike at Pedalpalooza Dublin!

Dublin City Council proudly presents Pedalpalooza, a FREE cycling event for all, taking place Sunday 12th of September from 1pm to 5pm in Fairview Park. Pedalpalooza aims to celebrate and promote the benefits of cycling through workshops, entertaining talks and fun activities.

Organised by Dublin City Council and supported by the National Transport Authority as part of National Bike Week, Pedalpalooza seeks to demonstrate the various ways cycling can be incorporated into everyday life. Attendees will learn about the benefits of cycling and how sustainable modes of transport can have a positive impact on our health, our bank balance and our environment.

A wide range of activities suitable for all ages and abilities will be held in the park to get people moving and to promote a more sustainable urban mobility culture, such as e-bike and cargo bike demos, information tents, children’s workshops, bike maintenance workshops, panel discussions and much more!

Speaking at the launch of Pedalpalooza, Councillor Donna Cooney, representing the Lord Mayor of Dublin Alison Gilliland, commented, “It’s great to see such an innovative and fun outdoor event taking place so close to the city, to demonstrate how easy and fun it is to get on your bike and get around Dublin. Pedalpalooza is a fantastic opportunity to spread awareness of the benefits of cycling and educate the wider public on simple steps they can take every day to live a more sustainable, greener lifestyle.”

She continued, “It is so important for future generations in Dublin City and Ireland as a whole to educate children on sustainable modes of transport and how to live a more eco-conscious life. Cycling is an invaluable skill which can be applied to all aspects of our everyday lives and is of huge benefit to our personal health and the health of our planet and environment.”

Deirdre Kelly, Cycling & Walking Officer with Dublin City Council stated, “We are delighted to kick off Bike Week 2021 with this exciting cycling event. Our aim at Pedalpalooza is to celebrate all aspects of cycling and promote the benefits for both our individual health and the planet. We encourage people of all ages and abilities to come to Fairview Park this Sunday.  No matter what age or ability – there is something for everyone”

From to cycle tours to pedal-powered workshops, obstacle courses and even a cycling fashion show, there will be something for the whole family to enjoy at Pedalpalooza!
