Irish Travel Agents call for Government support for Irish travel sector
The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) is calling on the Government to provide supports for travel agents who are struggling as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. The ITAA have consistently voiced their concerns regarding the impact that the COVID-19 crisis is having on travel agents throughout the country, and are calling for assistance from Government in the form of measures such as wage subsidies and grants to help repair some of the damage to Irish travel businesses in the wake of the pandemic.

Irish Travel Agents Association postpone Annual Conference until April 2021
The Irish Travel Agents Association, which celebrates its 50th Anniversary this year, has rescheduled its Annual Conference to take place from the 8th to the 10th of April, 2021 in line with current COVID-19 safety measures. The ITAA Annual Conference was scheduled to take place this year in Évora, Portugal from the 15th to the 18th of October, however to ensure the safety and comfort of all delegates the ITAA Board and the Portuguese Tourist Office in Dublin have made the difficult decision to postpone the Conference until April 2021.

Irish Travel Agents Association seek clarity on rules for travel ‘green list’ of countries
The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) is calling for clarity on the ‘green list’ of countries approved for international travel, stating that unless current travel restrictions are lifted, the publication of a green list is futile. The Association believes that the list could cause confusion for both inbound and outbound travellers, unless travel advice relating to the countries on the list changes.

The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) has welcomed the publication of the final report of the Aviation Recovery Taskforce which was published today and the recommendations within. However, the Association had anticipated that the interim recommendations of the Taskforce would be implemented by the Government following its publication on June 22. This has not been done.

Irish Travel Agents Association respond to Government advice on travel restrictions amid COVID-19 pandemic
The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) has again called for clarity from the Government on the current COVID-19 travel restrictions, stating that Ireland is now standing alone in Europe in terms of travel restrictions. The current guidelines have caused confusion for both travel agents and their customers, as the Government has not cancelled flights, but are advising passengers against travelling.

Irish Travel Agents Association support the lifting of the non-essential travel ban
The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) has welcomed recommendations contained in an interim report from the specially convened Aviation Recovery Taskforce, stating that restrictions on non-essential travel in and out of Ireland should be lifted by July 1st. The ITAA also supports the Taskforce’s suggestion that incoming travellers to Ireland should not be required to self-isolate for a two-week period after they arrive.
