Irish Travel Agents Association seek clarity on rules for travel ‘green list’ of countries

The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) is calling for clarity on the ‘green list’ of countries approved for international travel, stating that unless current travel restrictions are lifted, the publication of a green list is futile. The Association believes that the list could cause confusion for both inbound and outbound travellers, unless travel advice relating to the countries on the list changes.

Irish Travel Agents Association welcome the Aviation Recovery Taskforce Final Report relating to travel restrictions amid COVID-19 pandemic

The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) has welcomed the publication of the final report of the Aviation Recovery Taskforce which was published today and the recommendations within. However, the Association had anticipated that the interim recommendations of the Taskforce would be implemented by the Government following its publication on June 22. This has not been done.

Irish Travel Agents Association welcome State guarantee from Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport

The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) have responded positively to an announcement made today by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport, stating that special Covid-19 Refund Credit Notes issued by Irish licensed Travel Agents and Tour Operators will be protected by a State guarantee. This guarantee will protect the cash value of a Refund Credit Note in the event that a Travel Agent or Tour Operator becomes insolvent and goes out of business.

Irish Travel Agents Association support EU plans to fully reopen internal borders on 15 June

The Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) is calling on the Government and the NPHET to move forward on lifting travel restrictions to allow travel to resume to certain countries within the EU. The ITAA are disappointed that there is no indication of travel restrictions being eased until the 29th of June, despite positive data and metrics from the Chief Medical Officer.

ECTAA welcomes the Commission response to Covid-19, which is favourable to the travel and tourism industry

The ITAA are reassuring consumers that they can still securely book holidays despite the ongoing Coronavirus situation, thanks to a number of travel partners such as airlines and cruise companies who are liberalising costs and offering changes to travel arrangements free of charge for bookings made this month.
