KATIE to open in Irish cinemas on 26th October

Directed by Ross Whitaker (Unbreakable: The Mark Pollock Story), the film which picked up the Best Irish Feature Documentary award at the Galway Film Fleadh earlier this year intimately follows champion boxer Katie Taylor as she attempts to rebuild her career after a year of turmoil threatened to derail her career. With many writing her off, Taylor decided to start again, and the notoriously private champion agreed to let a small crew document her attempt to rescale the heights.

Cardboard Gangsters – film to hit Irish Cinemas 16th June

Cardboard Gangsters, which stars John Connors (King of the Travellers, Love/Hate), Fionn Walton (Out of Here, What Richard Did), and Kierston Wareing (Fish Tank, Eastenders) follows a group of wannabe gangsters as they attempt to gain control of the drug trade in Darndale, chasing the glorified lifestyle of money, power and sex.

Jay Connolly (Connors) is a part-time DJ and low-level drug dealer.  When his welfare is cut off he decides it’s time for him and his gang to enter the big leagues. This attracts the attention of the local King Pin and sets Jay down a violent and bloody path.

George Best biopic ‘Best’ – Dublin preview screening announced

George Best remains one of the most naturally gifted footballers there has ever been. Famously called the ‘best player in the world’ by Pelé, Best galvanised Manchester United’s five-year recovery from the tragedy of the Munich air crash in 1958. His skill and exuberance inspired them to win league titles and the European Cup, even though he was little more than a teenager. Tragically, his career in the upper echelons of sport was over before he turned 29, the result of his bruising battle with alcoholism and the crushing pressure of modern fame.

Crash & Burn to go full throttle in cinemas on December 2nd

Crash & Burn, which tells the story of Dundalk-born Tommy Byrne, who for a fleeting moment in the early 80s was the world’s greatest driver, will be released in Irish cinemas on Friday 2nd December.  Wildcard Distribution who will be releasing the film in Ireland and the UK.

The motor racing equivalent of George Best and Muhammad Ali all rolled into one, Tommy Byrne went from driving a Mini Cooper in stock-car racing to the big-time in Formula One in a little over four years and was a serious rival of Ayrton Senna.
