Wild Rose set for April 12th release date

Wild Rose, featuring a break out performance from 2019 Bafta Rising Star nominee Jessie Buckley, set for April release date. Buckley (29), who has previously starred in Beast and TV mini-series The Woman in White, plays a Glasgow singer who dreams of becoming a Nashville star in the new movie.

After delighting audiences at the Toronto International Film Festival and the BFI London Film Festival, Entertainment One have announced the release of Wild Rose, featuring a breakout performance from 2019 BAFTA “Rising Star” nominee Jessie Buckley.

Rose-Lynn Harlan (Killarney actor Jessie Buckley), is bursting with raw talent, charisma and cheek. Fresh out of jail and with two young kids, all she wants is to get out of Glasgow and make it as a country singer in Nashville. Her mum Marion (Julie Waters) has had a bellyful of Rose-Lynn’s Nashville nonsense. Forced to take a responsibility, Rose-Lynn gets a cleaning job, only to find an unlikely champion in the middle-class lady of the house (Sophie Okonedo). Directed by BAFTA nominee Tom Harper (The Scouting Books For Boys), produced by BAFTA nominee Faye Ward (Stan & Ollie) and written by BAFTA award-winning writer Nicole Taylor (The C Word), Wild Rose is an uplifting story with an original soundtrack about family, dreams and reality, and three chords and the truth.
